Jake McMahon

Jake represents clients in civil and criminal matters at Haddon, Morgan, and Foreman.

He graduated summa cum laude from Colorado State University, where he studied history and political science. He spent an additional year in Fort Collins working at a retirement community.

As a student at Stanford Law School, Jake worked with the StreetLaw program and the Three Strikes Project, and he received the President’s Award for Outstanding Service to the Stanford Law Review. He graduated with pro bono distinction.

After law school, Jake clerked for Justice William W. Hood, III, of the Colorado Supreme Court and for Judge Scott M. Matheson, Jr., of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Before joining Haddon, Morgan, and Foreman in 2023, Jake represented clients in appellate criminal matters as a Senior Deputy State Public Defender. In handling direct appeals and postconviction proceedings, he fiercely defended his clients’ interests before the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Colorado Supreme Court. Jake’s appellate experience, spanning traffic matters to homicide charges, honed his writing and oral advocacy skills.
